Married Sarah Parkinson 8 February, 1919 (War bride)NOTE: Marriage certificate , a copy of which is in his war service file, dates marriage as 4 March 1893 when George was 23 years of age and Sarah 21 years of age. This would make his birthdate at 1870. The marriage certificate was extracted on 8 February 1919 while he was in service and just prior to his return to Australia aboard H.M.A.T 'Orca' as a Nursing Staff member of the crew. With these dates in mind it appears that his stated age on his attestation form is misleading as he was probably 7 years older than he stated.
