Allan listed his profession as a farmer at Woombye. He was single at the time of his enlistment. He was of the Presbyterian faith. Allan had brown hair and blue eyes and was 5ft 4ins tall. His sister, Miss K Andersons as his next of kin, had mail forwarded to her c/-- McCallum, 72 South Wellington Street, Glasgow, Scotland. Allans Attestation papers state that he was previously rejected for military service as being medically unfit due to his false teeth. He returned to Australia after receiving wounds to his right leg. Allan also had both forearms tattooed.
