Cornelius Angel was born in Red Hill Brisbane, his belief system is stated as a Roman Catholic. He was working as a labourer.
The 2nd light horse brigade was formed in September 1914. It was made up of LH from 2 different States, NSW and Queensland.

Cornelius embarked to the Middle East on the 22 October 1915 from Sydney.
The name of his ship was S.S Hawkes Bay
He arrived in Egypt with 2nd Light Horse and in to training camp at Zietoun.
On 11 March 1916 he was transferred into 2nd Divisional Ammunition Column where he would be classified as a driver.
He remained with this until until demobilisation.
On 20 May 1916 he was moved to base depot in France.
He was not noted as wounded and returned from WWI.

Beerburrum Soldier Settlement, lot 641.

On his return to Australia he married Able Downton on 7th June 1924 and in 1925 they were living on the Beerburrum Soldier Settlement as farmers.
In 1935 while working at Kangaroo Point Quarry he was killed by a fall of rock.
He was buried at Balmoral Cemetery, Bulimba.
