William Reuben Bartlett was born in Wardell NSW and at the time of his enlistment he was a labourer.
At the age of 29, on the 3rd August 1915 he enlisted as a Private in the 26th Infantry Battalion.
On the 21st October 1915 and at the time of his enlistment he was a labourer.
At the age of 29, on the 3rd August 1915 he enlisted in the 26th Infantry Battalion. His service number was 2558.
On the 21st October 1915 he embarked on the Seang Bee.
During his service he was transferred to the 12th Battalion and while fighting at Mouquet Farm in France on the 19th August 1916 he was wounded.
He was reported missing in action on the 25th August 1916 and this was amended to killed in action on the 18th June 1917 following a Court of Enquiry.
William R Bartlett is buried at the Serre Road Cemetery No 2.
