Last of the Dungarees

abraham-ericOne of our researchers sent me some interesting information on one of our Eumundi families who sent eight sons to WW1. Three died overseas.

One of the survivors, Eric Abraham, was feted as one of the last surviving soldiers of WW1, culminating in a state funeral in 2003 after Eric died aged 104. He was well known as the 'Last of the Dungarees', the name given to a 1915 recruiting march from Warwick to Brisbane.
